The Mesobotox Technique: The Skin rejuvenation treatment that does more than just smooth wrinkles.

When most people think of anti-wrinkle injections, they often imagine frozen foreheads or expressionless faces. However, Mesobotox, also known as Microbotox or Microtox, is changing the way we approach both cosmetic and therapeutic skin treatments.

Unlike traditional anti-wrinkle injections that target deeper facial muscles, Mesobotox uses highly diluted microdroplets of botulinum toxin delivered superficially into the skin. This advanced technique works within the upper layers of the skin and superficial muscle fibres to create softer, more natural looking results while still allowing normal facial movement and expression.

Mesobotox has become increasingly popular for patients wanting subtle skin rejuvenation rather than dramatic muscle freezing. The treatment can improve fine lines, enlarged pores, lack lustre  skin texture, mild skin laxity, jawline definition, and overall skin quality. Many patients also notice smoother, brighter, and more radiant skin within 1–2 weeks after treatment.

One of the reasons Mesobotox stands out is because its benefits extend well beyond aesthetics. The treatment can also be highly effective for therapeutic skin concerns such as excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), oily skin, seborrhoea, and rosacea-related flushing. By reducing sweat gland and sebaceous gland activity within the skin, Mesobotox can help decrease facial oiliness, reduce shine, minimise pore appearance, and improve skin comfort in patients struggling with persistent redness or excessive perspiration.

For patients with rosacea, Mesobotox may help calm facial flushing and improve skin texture, especially when combined with a comprehensive dermatological treatment plan. Patients with acne-prone skin often appreciate the “filtered skin” effect that Mesobotox can provide, with skin appearing smoother and more refined.

The procedure itself is minimally invasive with very little downtime. Using an ultra-fine needle, tiny microdroplets are injected into the skin in a precise grid-like pattern across areas such as the forehead, cheeks, under-eye region, jawline, or neck. Mild redness or small bumps may appear temporarily after treatment but usually settle within a few hours.

Most patients notice visible improvements after just one Mesobotox session, including smoother skin texture, reduced redness, reduced oiliness, refined pores, and a more refreshed appearance. However, for optimal and longer lasting results, we typically recommend a series of 2–3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This “effect stacking” approach allows the benefits of Mesobotox to gradually build over time, leading to more noticeable improvements in skin quality, fine lines, redness, pore appearance, and overall skin luminosity.

Following the initial treatment, results often last around 3-4 months depending on the individual’s skin type, metabolism, lifestyle, and treatment area but with the “effect stacking” approach mentioned, final results are found to last longer. Regular maintenance treatments can help preserve ongoing improvements in skin texture, oil control, and overall skin rejuvenation.
